Mercure Penrith has an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to lead our Hub Finance Team overseeing three hotels' finance operations. Job Description Based at the Mercure Penrith, in the role of Hub Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the finance operations for three hotels including Mercure Penrith, Ibis Budget Perth, and Essence Hotels/Unilodge Carlton. To be successful, you will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as an Assistant Financial Controller or as a current Financial Controller. As the Hub Financial Controller, you will be responsible for: Leading the finance hub for three hotels. Directly accountable for all financial information sent to the General Manager, Accor, and Owners regarding presentation, accuracy, and detail. Creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to hotel owners and the Accor Regional team. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations at all levels and establishing robust internal controls to protect assets and maintain the integrity of financial data. Providing strategic financial guidance to the hotel leadership to align financial strategies with the hotel’s goals. Ensuring that all Management Agreement and Owners Corporation matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner – with accuracy and attention to detail. Overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and offering insights to enhance profitability. Identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives while analyzing financial information to spot trends and opportunities for improved efficiency. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Assisting Department Heads/Managers in all three hotels to develop effective measures to enhance their department’s profitability. Supplying all departments with accurate statistical information on a timely basis. Cooperating with all other departments offering support information on finance matters as required. Developing and monitoring all financial systems for the Hotel with a view to improving and streamlining procedures. Ensuring that policies and procedures set by Accor are implemented and internal controls are operating effectively. Guiding, mentoring, and developing the leadership team in all things finance, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Finance roles including roles as Assistant Financial Controller as a minimum. Previous experience using Sun Cloud, Opera Cloud, Wage Easy is preferred. Leadership, ownership, and entrepreneurial qualities. Strong communicator who has the ability to relate to all stakeholders - team members, peers, senior management, and owners. Self-motivated, engaging, and approachable. Decision-making skills.
