7 Research Dr, Greenville, SC 29607, USA Req #4553 Monday, February 17, 2025 TITLE: Human Resource Generalist DEPARTMENT: Human Resources GRADE: Non-Technical level 5 or lower based on experience REPORTS TO: Human Resource Manager Summary/Purpose: The human resource generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity program, benefits management, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and business needs. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: Interpret, communicate, and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all employees. Benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, communicating benefit information to employees and supporting annual open enrollment. Partner with hiring managers and the recruiting team to support staffing efforts, which includes creating job requisitions, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, making employment offers, and arranging drug screens and background checks. Conduct new-employee onboarding and ensure new hire paperwork is complete. Maintain employee files and I-9 compliance. Process and administer all leave of absence requests and disability; maintain all related paperwork. Administer online learning management system for Greenville facilities and maintain employee training records. Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile HR reporting as needed. Assist in creation, revision and maintenance of job descriptions. Participate in administrative team meetings; plan, support, and participate in company sponsored employee and community activities; and attend other meetings and seminars. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and maintain privacy of all PHI in accordance with HIPAA. Conduct investigations and partner with managers on corrective counseling processes. Conduct exit interviews and off-boarding processes. Participate in a safety committee meeting and maintain safety training records. Support OSHA reporting and safety data management. Perform other related duties and projects as required and assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Able to handle confidential information and maintain the highest level of legal and ethical standards. Must be committed to providing excellent customer service, handling multiple complex tasks, and working in a high volume fast-paced changing environment. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business. 1 to 3 years’ experience in Human Resources or Business-Related degree. Familiar with standard HR concepts, practices and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations concerning employment. Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
