Job Description Viva Energy Australia have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Lead – New Energies for an 18-month fixed term contract or secondment role in our New Energies team supporting the day-to-day operational requirements of the Viva Energy Hub hydrogen refuelling station in Geelong and EV charging network in SA and NSW. The successful candidate will be the primary focal point for Viva Energy Hub and EV charger users with regards to customer experience at these facilities. This is a broad scope that includes tasks such as on-boarding new customers, troubleshooting EV charger or hydrogen dispenser connection issues, ensuring the electrolyser is generating hydrogen to meet customer demand, and ensuring modes of payment are active such as outdoor payment terminals and the EV app. The Operations Lead will have access to back-office systems to support them in these tasks and will have ability to work with technical specialists to tailor these systems to the needs of the role. Moreover, the Operations Lead will run safe, clean, well-maintained sites, with high equipment availability and will liaise with technical specialists and external vendors to establish maintenance, inspections and test plans. This role requires a delivery focused, flexible mindset and the use of field-based practical skills. A strong safety and customer focus will be required when developing and implementing operational policies and procedures as required. Responsibilities & Requirements Run safe, clean, well maintained sites with high equipment availability Establish maintenance, inspections and test plans with technical specialists Ensure the best customer experience from using the assets, ensuring payment systems and other customer interfaces are working Manage site operations to budget and complete required forecasting. Seek out opportunities for capex and opex efficiencies across the portfolio Drive integration with business-as-usual operations, and help synergise overall operational requirements in line with current business approach, contracts and service providers Lead continuous improvement of operational metrics Build and maintain effective relationships across internal Viva Energy teams, external regulators, delivery partners and customers to enhance overall service, standards and safety performance Contribute to hydrogen demand growth pathways and EV charging utilisation uplift Qualifications Strong commitment to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confident with IT systems that will support you in the role Genuine interest in customer experience, innovation and a collaborative approach to delivering exceptional outcomes Delivery focussed with a vision for future opportunities Collaborative mindset and team-first approach is essential Additional Information We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.
