Welcome to the Partner Technical Specialist - Storage Brand role! As a Partner Technical Specialist, you will be a crucial part of our sales team, responsible for understanding and promoting IBM's storage solutions within the IBM Ecosystem. You will be joining a highly successful team, comprising talented individuals from all over Australia and New Zealand. Your role and responsibilities As a Partner Technical Specialist in the Storage Brand, your key responsibilities include: Influencing Partner Technical Strategy: Incorporate and embed IBM's storage technology portfolio into Partner's reference architectures, practices, and solutions. Work to position IBM's technology against competitors. Enabling Sales and Technical Sellers: Increase Partner technical capabilities by enabling their sales and technical sellers to demonstrate and conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) of IBM storage technology at scale with clients. Leverage technical insights to work alongside Ecosystem Partners to remove technical inhibitors and co-deliver demos with Partners, support partner PoC, advise partners on Solution Assurance, and progress opportunities to closure. Cover various Ecosystem Motions (Sell, Build, and Service) as dictated by market opportunity and Partner growth opportunity. Storage Integration and Hybrid Cloud: Integrate cross-vendor storage systems and understand how your client's solution interacts with other vendor solutions and their data centres and hybrid cloud solutions. Present and demonstrate the capability of the IBM Storage portfolio in a range of environments from purpose-built application platforms, on-premises deployments or multi/hybrid cloud solutions. Education and Training: Education and training go hand in hand with your journey at IBM. You will be expected to complete product-specific training, including stand and deliver presentations to demonstrate competency. As this will be a technical sales role, you will begin your learning at IBM by being enrolled in the Global Sales School. Global Sales School aims to prepare sales professionals for their roles within the IBM Ecosystem, enabling them to effectively engage with partners and clients, understand and demonstrate IBM's technology solutions, and contribute to the growth of the overall Ecosystem. Client Success and Business Growth: Work with Ecosystem Partners to identify opportunities and progress technical sales, resulting in client success and IBM Technology business growth in your territory. Identify opportunities to expand Ecosystem partner skills coverage for your specialty in order to scale success in your territory. Required Education None Preferred Education Technical Diploma Required Technical and Professional Expertise A background in technical sales roles such as Solution Architecture with a focus on infrastructure and cloud will enhance your success in this role. Previous vendor experience could be useful but is not necessary. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Virtual infrastructure skills such as vSphere, HyperV, and KVM. Network and Storage Fabric experience. OpenShift experience and familiarization with containerized workloads. Cyber Resiliency experience with storage brands. A cyber security background would be useful.
