IT SUPERVISOR FULL TIME ABOUT THE ROLE: Cairns Convention Centre is looking for a proactive Information Technology (IT) professional to join our team as an IT Supervisor. Reporting to the Corporate Services Director and working closely with the Audio-Visual department, this role is responsible for: Management of all IT hardware and software for the Centre, covering corporate and event requirements. Ensure all security measures (firewalls, virus protection, access controls) are maintained for effective data protection and backup data processes are managed including disaster recovery. Ensure all licensing requirements are up to date and relevant for purpose. Determine IT future direction to ensure a world-class convention facility. Budgeting, financial management and statistical reporting. Develop and maintain documentation to support management of the Centre’s servers and all applicable systems and applications. Develop and maintain business and resilience plans in relation to IT systems and equipment. Contractor management. The role is primarily office hours, but availability to support the IT needs of our events, or our corporate systems, outside of office hours is required. You will have: Experience working in a similar IT role. Technical university qualifications will be highly regarded. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to use initiative, make decisions and meet deadlines. Knowledge and experience with: Technical infrastructure including servers, desktops, firewalls, including DHCP, VLAN, VRF, LAN & WAN networking principles. Microsoft 365 Hybrid Environment, Azure, Exchange (Online & On-premise), Endpoint Manager. Microsoft Server Platforms – Administration of Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, DFS and GPOs. Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server & Desktop Technologies & Cloud Environments. Support and Configuration of Routers / Switches and Wireless Access Points in a Cisco Networking Environment. Printer Management. VM Ware Virtualization Platforms. IT Hardware rollouts.
