About The Role The ITTC Senior Youth Worker plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality therapeutic care to vulnerable children and young people, promoting their emotional, social and behavioural wellbeing within our 13 week Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care program. Working within a trauma-informed therapeutic framework, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated team to support young people in healing from trauma and achieving their full potential. This is a full time 38 hours per week opportunity based in Royalla NSW within our Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care program. The position reports to the ITTC House Manager. Key Responsibilities Support the House Manager in coordinating the daily operations of the house, ensuring the implementation of best practices in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS). Provide a stable, safe, and supportive environment for young people by implementing house guidelines and case plans. Foster a trauma-informed therapeutic framework aimed at positive outcomes for young people and their families. Supervise and mentor staff, building a client-focused and supportive team. Engage in regular team meetings, house meetings, and case reviews to ensure comprehensive service delivery. Ensure that all statutory child protection requirements and policies are adhered to. Promote a participatory environment where young people and staff can engage in decision-making processes. Ensure the house is nurturing and home-like, with attention to the physical and emotional safety of each young person. Support young people in developing new skills, engaging in education, employment, and community activities. Oversee day-to-day household responsibilities, including finances, shopping, and meeting the material needs of the young people. Key Selection Criteria Minimum qualification: Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent (or equivalent experience). Experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation, with a demonstrated ability to supervise a team. Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution capabilities, and effective communication (both written and verbal). Understanding of Aboriginal culture and current issues faced by Aboriginal children and young people. Ability to work with young people who have experienced significant trauma and demonstrate behavioural challenges. Experience with case planning and working with young people in a therapeutic framework. Our offer Hourly Rate of $43.08 to $46.35 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 4, dependent on qualification and experience.
