In-House Lawyer – 12-month contract

A leading global resources company has partnered with Elevate and is seeking an In-House lawyer for a 12-month contract role based in Perth. The role requires an Australian-qualified lawyer with 10+ years post-admission experience available part-time for 3-4 days per week. Key Responsibilities: Traditional Owner Agreements – Lead negotiations on a first-time mining project for the community. Experience in traditional owner agreements across all areas is essential. A high level of emotional intelligence and a culturally sensitive approach are critical. Stakeholder Engagement —Collaborate with the communications team to ensure transparent and effective information sharing with internal and external stakeholders, including traditional owner communities. Environmental Approvals – Provide legal expertise on environmental agreements and approval processes. Joint Venture Support – Assist in transitioning a recently signed MOU Joint Venture, becoming actively involved in project engagement from Q3. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of indigenous land agreements.
