We have an URGENT opportunity for an Information and Communications Manager , on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra (Hybrid Working arrangement of 50% on site / 50% remote) . The contract is for an initial 9 month period, with a 12 month extension option . Start: circa March/April 2025 DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Project Management Services and Support The Project Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: Facilitate access to Spo Objective folders on the DPN and DSN, including implementation of the new structure while liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure access for the Directorate is maintained. Lead Content Manager and work independently to design, build and maintain SharePoint pages on both DPN and DSN, which include task tracking, scheduling and team collaboration. Facilitate access of the SharePoint pages on the DPN and DSN, including implementation of the new structure while liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure access for Directorate is maintained. Develop and implement communications plans and strategies to ensure effective communication within the CMO and with relevant stakeholders. Manage information and records management activities. Review integrity of information to recommend its suitability for disclosure in accordance with legislative and administrative guidance. Work collaboratively with the CMO to ensure alignment of information repositories for the Capability program. Develop and implement information and records management policies and procedures to achieve continuous improvement. Conduct training for CMO staff to ensure compliance with the business tools and processes supporting the CMO functional teams. Consult and coordinate with the Program Management Office (PgMO) to ensure alignment of overall Capability Program knowledge and information management processes and tools. Manage onboarding administration for new staff, including setting up access to relevant systems and repositories and providing training and support as needed. Manage offboarding administration for exiting staff, including revoking access to relevant systems and repositories and ensuring that all necessary information and records are transferred to appropriate personnel. Minimum mandatory requirements: AGSVA Security clearance. Demonstrated ability to engage with Defence stakeholders including ADF, APS and contractors. Demonstrated experience in information management and policy. Background in government archives policy. Demonstrated ability in interpreting and applying legislative, policy and regulatory requirements in regard to records management. Ability to understand business processes and build supporting information tools and processes. Have previously or currently fulfilled the duties of an Objective Work Group Coordinator. Desirable skills and background: Additional qualifications or practical experience outside of their immediate field of expertise. Additional skills in project/program management, systems engineering, communications, business management, or information technology backgrounds are valued. Understanding of Joint and domain-specific staff processes within operational and tactical level headquarters. Knowledge or experience working in the Defence Capability Lifecycle process, governance structures, and committee processes.
