An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Information and Intelligence Manager to join our team within the Quality and Nursing Directorate, supporting the delivery of the Health and Social Care (Quality & Engagement) (Wales) Act, Duty of Quality, Duty of Candour and Citizens Voice across Wales. The successful candidate will work to the Quality Assurance Lead to enable, provide and promote the effective use data and intelligence to support the All Wales Health & Social Care (Quality & Engagement) (Wales) Act, Duty of Quality, Duty of Candour and Citizens Voice across the Trust using various operating software systems. The post holder will work in partnership with all teams & departments to develop Trust wide self-service dashboards based on the Trust quality outcome measures, meeting the requirements of 'Always On' reporting. Enabling managers to monitor quality trends and themes within business areas and support the co-ordination and management of the quality agenda, meeting the Trust's organisational ambitions and legislative requirements. The successful candidate must be a good team player, be able to manage their own workload and work to tight deadlines successfully. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job Provide intelligence and thematic analysis across the various operating systems to support the quality management system. Inform, develop, and promote the use of the quality management dashboard across the organisation to support learning. Highlight issues/risks regarding compliance to data quality standards of intelligence used across the operating systems. Work both autonomously and as part of the quality assurance function, exercising discretion in respect of their area of responsibility. Identify opportunities for enhancing system performance through automation. Maintain regular working relationships with Digital Directorate to prevent duplication of effort and to align to the Digital Strategy for the organisation. Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area of informatics. Knowledge of health informatics procedures, information analysis and reporting NHS standards. Knowledge & experience of statistical, analytical & numerical techniques, problem solving and high numeracy - procedures acquired through relevant experience. Detailed knowledge & understanding of Health Informatics - including healthcare datasets, data quality, national strategic control mechanisms for data management, definitional guidance & data protection. Experience Experience of working in a data rich and information-dependent environment. Experience and specialist knowledge of data analysis procedures and practices gained through working with senior practitioners within the field of Health Informatics. Experience of working in the NHS. Skills and Attributes Excellent verbal communication and presentational skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines. Ability to prioritise workload and work unsupervised. Ability to maintain prolonged periods of concentration and achieve high standards of accuracy. Excellent planning and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines. Proven information analysis skills. Logical and methodical approach. Ability to rapidly learn the use of new systems and software. Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. Advanced Keyboard Skills. An exceptional understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as excellent data handling skills. Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information from large data sets to a range of customers. Very high level of computer literacy & technical competence - including an understanding of MS Excel & Access, SPC and other statistical charting outputs. A sound understanding of the importance of quality data. Present information concisely and clearly in a wide range of formats. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh. Other Works with a great degree of autonomy and adaptability. Results orientated perspective. Problem solving approach. Enthusiastic disposition. Ability to travel between sites as required.
