Innovation Lead Role for a leading Government client in a large scale program of work surrounding open data. Contract up until June 30th 2025, paying up to $800 per day plus super, located in Sydney with WFH flexibility. Role Description: This role will support initiatives already in progress or prioritised for the period in scope, initiatives which enable or deliver innovative ways of using data with high value strategic outcomes for customers and communities. This includes, as required, any phase of the initiative and involves working closely with the other team members, collaborating with SMEs across the organisation, other government organisations and industry. It will support the initiative’s lead to drive and deliver the scope in time and budget. Key Accountabilities: Identify, research, define and drive the development of initiatives that contribute high value innovation to meet key customer outcomes, strategic goals and corporate values. Scoping and planning innovation projects with ownership of the proof of concepts or minimal viable products from development to implementation. Forming partnerships and mobilising diverse project teams and collaborating to ensure successful outcomes. Monitor and report on the progress of initiatives. Prototype and test work, all the way through from ideation, concept, design and throughout development to ensure quality delivery of concepts or minimal viable products. Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Understanding of mobility data related innovation ecosystem (including underlying technology especially around leveraging data through digital apps) and trends. Knowledge and understanding of open data innovation processes. Understanding of data lifecycle and data value chain. Stakeholder engagement and communications skills. Understanding of user experience requirements and considerations for data driven solutions including accessibility requirements. Experience delivering data driven customer focused outcomes. Experience coordinating with other teams for planning, design, governance, media and support processes and to ensure timely and accurate delivery of innovative data driven solutions.
