Due to a recognised need to build upon current strategy, this organisation is now looking to appoint an Insurance Manager to lead a team of highly skilled specialists and drive process improvements.The Role Reporting to the Head of Risk, this is a pivotal role in which you will provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and management of our clients’ insurance program. Your focus will be on evaluating risks, crafting and executing effective insurance strategies, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Your primary objective will be to safeguard the organisation from potential losses, while optimising insurance coverage and minimising associated costs.Key Responsibilities Including Lead the development and execution of insurance strategies to mitigate risks and optimise coverage; Advise the Executive Leadership Team and Audit and Risk Committee on strategic insurance decisions; Design and implement a risk-focused insurance improvement strategy to enhance business resilience; Oversee risk management to ensure effective mitigation and guide insurance decisions; Resolve complex insurance issues, including claims, disputes, and regulator interactions; Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing insurance team, fostering continuous growth; and Manage the end-to-end claims process and conduct site inspections to identify and implement risk improvements. About You You will have significant experience working within a corporate environment in the critical infrastructure industry, with a deep understanding of the complexities within this space. Coupled with this, it is essential you possess Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or Law; Cert IV in General Insurance.Additionally, you will have An ability to lead a small, high-performing team in a complex, dynamic environment; Be skilled in identifying, assessing, and managing strategic and operational risks; Have strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and drive decisions; Experience in the Australian market, with strong industry connections and collaboration with claims and underwriting groups; and Please note - this role requires availability for on-call duties, including attending to work matters outside of normal working hours, such as evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as needed to meet the position's requirements.
