Centrally located in the East End Village of Newcastle's CBD, this property is owned by Iris Capital and managed under the QT Brand. About The Role An exciting opportunity has become available for an exceptional senior leader at QT Newcastle's signature Restaurant and Bar, Jana. The successful individual must have exceptional leadership skills and lead with a hands-on approach in operations. Jana Restaurant is a 60 seater, Italian Bar & Grill restaurant. Jana Bar comes to life in the evenings and is also where we host breakfast 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be directly responsible for the overall guest experience throughout the Ground Floor, with a huge focus on leading a team who can deliver the QT signature service for each of our guests and to the local community. Responsible for the day-to-day management of Jana Restaurant & Bar. Rostering and forecasting against budgeted targets. Maintain food and beverage menus and support with the wine list development. Handle complaints so that it leaves customers satisfied and impressed. Constantly motivate staff and be positive and passionate. Actively participate in service, leading by example and developing the skills of staff. Skills & experience Proven previous experience in a Restaurant senior role and proven leadership experience. Focus on growing and developing a team of passionate restaurant and hotel people. Professional and personable, with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. Sound decision making and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure. Solid knowledge of wine, spirits and food. Current RSA required. Must have the appropriate legal requirements to work in Australia.
