About Sylvia P Company Story Our story started in 1994, when our namesake Sylvia found it near impossible to find a leotard for her daughter. Having enrolled her into gymnastics, Sylvia found the outfit options limited and uncomfortable, lacking function and style. Not one to just accept the norm, Sylvia took matters into her own hands. After borrowing a sewing machine and purchasing some lycra, the very first Sylvia P product was born. In the gym that next week, the leotard was all anyone could talk about. Where did it come from? And more importantly, how could they get their hands on one? From the family garage, Sylvia built a company on the back of hard work, unwavering commitment to quality and being customer focused. Truly a family affair, today all three of Sylvia’s children manage key areas of the business with the third generation often seen at SPHQ. With our roots in Australia, our HQ is home to one of the country’s largest clothing manufacturing facilities where we produce majority of our products. Additionally, our USA office and distribution centre allows Sylvia P’s Brands to reach and support customers globally. Created in 2013, Sylvia P Practice Wear is the MUST HAVE training wear for gymnasts and active girls everywhere. Our high quality, functional gymnastics gear screams fashion, but delivers on comfort too. Our designs vary from bright, fun and iconic prints, to classic designs with a twist— we never disappoint! We collaborate with inspirational ambassadors that bring positive energy and empowerment into the lives of girls everywhere. Sylvia P Team Wear are custom made for state association, national teams and colleges, clubs and elite athletes all over the world looking for the world’s most elevated leotards for the competition floor. Our team has created a new perspective on gymnastics leotards and provides a level of service, design and craftsmanship UNSEEN in our industry. Our handcrafted leotards are about creativity, quality and comfort that allow gymnasts to feel confident and compete at their best. Every Turn stretches well beyond the activewear space - Our apparel bold, modern and fresh, filled with confidence! Created in 2022, Every Turn is a fresh take on youth activewear that’s universally welcoming and inspiring, with a mission of boosting confidence, encouraging participation through movement, and leading the way with quality, innovation and creativity. Every Turn cleverly combines fashion and street aesthetics with high quality designs and functionality—designed in Australia. Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to create global sportswear brands that are leaders in their market. THE REAL SYLVIA P - OUR FOUNDER Sylvia P began in 1994, with a mission. Sylvia Pichler had to create a stand-out leotard for her 8-year-old gymnast daughter, Sandra. After moving to Australia from Austria in 1992, Sylvia needed to find a new place to buy leotards. Sylvia searched high and low in Brisbane, Australia. But it was difficult to purchase gymnastics or athletic wear that was both comfortable and stylish. Sylvia finally decided to take matters into her own hands. A seamstress novice, she purchased 50 cms of fluorescent yellow material from a local Brisbane fabric shop. Sylvia borrowed an overlocker and zigzag sewing machine from a friend, and started designing. Finally, the first Sylvia P leotard was born. Of course, Sandra rapidly became the trendiest gymnast kid in class. The distinctive leotards captured the attention of gymnasts and coaches. It didn't take long for the local gymnastics community to start placing their own custom orders. Fast-forwarding to today, Sylvia manages the production floor of our Brisbane-based factory. Sylvia ensures the company continues to create the same distinctive, quality-rich garments. Sylvia P is a truly iconic, family-run affair. All three of Sylvia's children, Thomas, Daniela and Sandra, manage key departments within the business. As former gymnasts or coaches, her children understand the needs of athletes when creating each product. Sylvia’s passion for creating dazzling gymnastics and athletic wear continues.
