Scope of work: We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Hand / Chef's Assistant to join our team on a permanent, full-time Fly-in-Fly-out basis. Ideally, you will be a qualified Chef as there will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with: Maintaining quality and hygiene standards to food safe standards. Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the camp. Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS. Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimize food wastage. Preparing food to Chef’s instructions. Peeling and cutting vegetables. Working as a team with the Chef on duty. Requirements: Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (desired). 2 years Chef experience (desired). High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience. Experience in a mining village operation preferred. Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge. Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Able to work a flexible FIFO roster. Police clearance or willing to obtain one. Medically fit to pass pre-employment medical.
