At MJ Quinn, our purpose is to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing critical infrastructure, connecting and supporting communities and businesses across the UK DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Logistics function consists of several departments: Asset Management, Fleet, Inventory, Supply Chain and Stores. Together they provide shared services to the MJ Quinn Telecoms and Energy divisions. The Logistics Systems and Data Analyst role will site within the Asset Management department but will be a shared resource for the whole of the Logistics function. The Asset Management department is a key part of the Logistics function. The department ensures that testing equipment and assets for use by in-field engineers are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant regulations. JOB OBJECTIVE The Logistics Systems and Data Analyst will be responsible for analysing Logistics data to optimise performance, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role involves generating reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement across the various departments of the Logistics function. The Logistics Systems and Data Analyst will work with key stakeholders in Logistics to provide reports and carry out data analysis as required by the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following: Working with key stakeholders to determine the data to be collected and analysed Developing system knowledge to be able to obtain the required data for reporting Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data from various Logistics systems, including 365 Inventory Management, SAP and the relevant Asset Management and Fleet systems Generating regular and ad-hoc reports for senior management on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics Developing processes for collection of operational data, such as pick accuracy Generating a data dashboard for each of the Logistics departments Utilising data collection software, such as PowerBI, to optimise reporting capabilities Identifying patterns and trends in data to inform decision-making, reduce operational costs, and improve efficiencies Ensuring data integrity and accuracy within the relevant management systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies Collaborating with IT teams and software vendors to troubleshoot system issues and ensure the seamless operation of all relevant systems Presenting data findings and actionable insights to leadership and other non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner Acting as lead for the implementation, monitoring and management of any supplier system API’s, or supplier hosted portals Acting as technical lead for the identification, scoping and implementation of any in-house Logistics system developments Producing, reviewing and updating user guides for the core Logistics systems Assisting in the delivery of training and ongoing support on the core Logistics systems Assisting in ensuring GDPR compliance within the Logistics function Assisting in the data management including storage, access and retention, in the Logistics function Ability to work independently, and at the same time collaboratively with the various stakeholders within the Logistics function EXPERIENCE Essential Experience working in a Data Analytics role, preferably within Logistics, Warehousing or Fleet Management Demonstrated experience working with database querying and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Visio, 365) Desirable Experience with Inventory Management systems, including SAP and 365 Experience working with Fleet management software, telematics, incident databases Experience working within the Telecommunications industry an advantage SKILLS Essential Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and use of Macros Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making Organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the business, presenting complex data in a suitable format for the required audience Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently, and at the same time collaboratively with the various stakeholders within the Logistics function QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Essential Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field Desirable Technical qualifications in data analytics systems BENEFITS: Free Parking 33 days holiday (25 + Bank holidays) Employee Bonus Scheme Healthcare Cashback Plan Employee Assistance Programme Cycle to Work Scheme Company Contribution Pension Scheme Parental Leave and Pay Employee Reward and Recognition Learning and Development Opportunities Gym & Retail Discounts.
