Where Cloud lives and AI thrives As our Data Centre High Voltage and Grid Connection Lead Electrical Engineering you’ll ensure we continue to deliver industry leading data centres per management, brief objectives, budgets and timelines. To be successful in this role you’ll: Provide High/Medium/Low Voltage, Utility and distribution electrical engineering as required for all NEXTDC data centre new facility, substation, electrical utility grid connection and expansion projects including utility grid connection applications, approvals, design, construction and handover. Deliver NEXTDC data centre project High/Medium Voltage utility connections, substations and related electrical systems, to the NEXTDC safety, technical and quality requirements for the electrical and control engineering disciplines. Provide electrical engineering services for utility provider connections negotiations, enquiries, submissions, design advice, design process, feasibility, due diligence checks, engineering calculations, tender/for construction/shop drawing reviews/co-ordination oversight, functional description, construction coordination, monitoring and control logic review and approvals. Be responsible for all engineering stages including site appraisal, due diligence, feasibility, concept, connection agreements, spatial co-ordination, technical design advice and input, tender reviews, and analysis, for construction/shop drawings reviews, construction reviews, testing/commissioning/ISTs reviews, Uptime Certification, as-built, O&M and supporting the facilities management team through hand over and initial support for each data hall and central plant stage. Minimum Requirements: Medium and High Voltage Electrical and Controls engineering Specialist high/medium/low voltage and utility grid connection electrical engineering expertise Skills and experience in electrical, control and monitoring systems for all project stages of mission critical 24/7 100% uptime facilities Eye for detail and quality Practical onsite team-work with diverse teams to achieve the project quality, budget and date deliverables Knowledge of relevant industry standards Electrical systems and associated communications protocols Bachelor’s Degree qualification in Engineering - Electrical Chartered professional engineer / RPEQ desirable Seize this exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s fastest growing companies and play a key contributing role in the future of AI and the digital economy.
