This is a part-time remote role for a fixed-term 3 month contract with an opportunity to transition to a full-time role. Why Join Us? Qualifications & Responsibilities Ph.D. in Microbiology, Genetics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of postdoctoral or industry research experience with a focus on microbial research and multi-omics data insights, including metagenomic sequencing and gene expression studies. Bioinformatics & biological insights: You have experience managing a small team in analysing and integrating multi-omics datasets (e.g., GWAS, EWAS, tissue-specific transcriptomics, genomics) to derive biological insights from microbiome and disease models. Experience in metabolic profiling and CobraPy, ModelSeed will be beneficial. Utilise advanced visualisation techniques to present data clearly and drive decisions on therapeutic targets. Research design & ethics: Background in designing and conducting translational research, with an understanding of ethical and regulatory processes involved in preclinical and clinical studies and to ensure high levels of scientific integrity. Lead and secure competitive research grants. Experience in publishing research in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and presentation skills to expert and non-expert audiences with the ability to clearly communicate complex data. Mentorship & team development: Provide leadership and mentoring skills to junior researchers, bioinformaticians and laboratory staff, prioritising and effectively managing your and your team's time.
