Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to support a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Cyber Program. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain IT systems, ensuring secure and resilient operations for DoD environments. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of DISA policies and cybersecurity frameworks. Primary place of performance will be Pensacola, FL where an on-site presence is required. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage networks and architectures to support the DISA Cyber Program. Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level network solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, and cloud networking. Ensure system security and compliance with DoD and DISA security requirements. Implement and enforce security measures, including firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, and encryption protocols. Perform proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high network availability and performance. Develop and maintain network documentation, policies, and best practices in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support teams. Evaluate, recommend, and manage network infrastructure vendors and service providers. Develop and maintain system policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with DISA STIGs and RMF. Conduct system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. Provide leadership and mentorship to systems engineering teams. Manage system tools, technologies, and processes, ensuring alignment with mission requirements. Develop and deliver reports, briefings, and system security recommendations to senior leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or managerial role. Top Secret clearance – required. ITIL certification – preferred. Experience with system security tools such as SIEMs, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners. Proven ability to manage system incidents, assessments, and compliance efforts. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Active CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAM Level III certification. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with DISA, DoD Cyber Operations, or similar environments. Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, DoD Cloud environments). Familiarity with Software Defined Networking. Posted Min Pay Rate USD $130,000.00/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate USD $170,000.00/Yr. Salary Disclosure Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
