Learning Advisor – 12-month Fixed Term Opportunity Are you passionate about supporting students in achieving their full academic potential? SCU Ventures is seeking a Learning Advisor to develop and implement academic support strategies that empower students to succeed. As a Learning Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing students’ academic literacy and learning strategies, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in their studies. By providing tailored support, mentoring, and intervention strategies, you will help students overcome challenges, improve their academic performance, and foster a culture of integrity and excellence. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on student success and reports into the Academic Manager. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group academic support to enhance student learning, literacy, and success. Identify and assist at-risk students through targeted interventions and academic monitoring. Teach one unit per intake (three times per academic year) and contribute to learning development initiatives. Manage and track academic misconduct cases, ensuring compliance with policies. Maintain accurate student progress records and contribute to institutional reporting. Collaborate with academic staff and student support teams to improve learning outcomes. Selection Criteria: Degree-qualified in a relevant field Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, preferably in higher education Experience in supporting student learning and progression in a university setting Proficiency with Blackboard, Moodle, SharePoint, and student management systems.
