MTS are the proud operators and maintainers of the M1 Northwest and Bankstown Line with the new City section now operational. We run a fully automated passenger railway – an Australian first. We connect our customers to opportunities that matter to them while delivering the next generation of rail travel to Sydney. With global expertise, we manage 51.5km of track and 21 stations, with a planned expansion into southwest Sydney. Job Description We have an opportunity for a seasoned Learning & Development Lead to join our team. This role will be responsible for the successful on-time completion of all training activities related to getting our people ready to open, operate and maintain the extension of the M1 line into Bankstown. This position is responsible for planning, executing and overseeing all Learning and Development initiatives that ensure the safe operation and maintenance of new assets. You will play a pivotal role in managing internal and external relationships to ensure all training efforts are effective and fit for purpose. This is a fixed term full time opportunity up to September 2025. There may be an opportunity to extend beyond this date. Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Develop project plan(s) with key milestones and critical pathway and governance processes that guide the successful execution of the project. Conduct and implement training needs analysis. Coordinate and track training material review with nominated reviewers. Review training packages as the L&D representative and provide feedback to ensure training packages meet MTS standards and adult learning principles. Ensure reporting is executed efficiently and distributed within set deadlines. Demonstrated ability to develop reporting template(s), implement efficient data collection processes, interpret data, gather insights, and raise risks. Desired Skills and Experience About You You will bring your superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide advice and to manage positive relationships, influence and negotiate with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you are flexible and have the ability to adapt work methods and respond positively to changing deliverables, conditions or unexpected obstacles. You will also possess the following: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Previous experience in vocational education, capability development and/or learning and development, with operational training experience desired. Previous experience in creating competency-based training and assessment (CBT/A); and Verification of Competence (VOC) assessments. Previous experience in program and project management. Sound knowledge and experience using Microsoft 365 and eLearning Authoring tools.
