At approximately 18,000 properties, DHA’s housing portfolio is one of Australia’s largest, and properties are located across all states and territories. DHA is a corporate Commonwealth entity and Government Business Enterprise (GBE), operating under the provisions of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (the DHA Act), the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), and the PGPA Rule. About your team The Provisioning function within Defence Housing Australia is responsible for the delivery of Acquisitions, Leasing, Disposals, Marketing and Strategic Provisioning initiatives. The Leasing and Acquisitions Team is responsible for the sourcing and delivery of new properties to the portfolio via lease or acquisition, as well as management of all lease agreements including extensions, new contracts and end of lease processes across the national portfolio of properties. About the role DHA is seeking a motivated self-starter with ideally a proven track record of achievement in sales and/or business development to join the DHA Leasing and Acquisitions Team. In this role, you will deliver the annual leasing and acquisition programs in accordance with the approved capital plan for specified regions. You will be responsible for identifying and provisioning housing that meets the required standards for Defence members and their families and other Government agencies. You will monitor performance, prepare regular reports and provide expert advice on DHA and Defence policy, DHA Lease Agreements, acquisition contracts as well as all aspects of the real estate market in your region to internal and external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have a background in property or a related field, with experience in leasing, sales, and/or business development all desirable. The role will be responsible for a range of activities including working as part of a team managing a portfolio of leased properties, identifying and converting new business leads and prospecting for new potential properties to add to the DHA portfolio via direct negotiation with property owners.
