You will supervise and train students undertaking professional placement in the discipline of Sport and Exercise Science. You will work with a team of academic staff to develop and support a high-quality sustainable professional placement program and will contribute to developing quality placement opportunities including internal and external placements. You will collaborate with staff from other disciplines to explore interprofessional opportunities for student learning and engage with the private, public, and community sectors, and the local community in Moreton Bay and elsewhere. You will teach within areas of interest and expertise and engage in research and scholarship activity relevant to your academic and clinical education role. You will: be an effective teacher and make sound independent contributions to delivering teaching, learning, and graduate outcomes; lead the facilitation of quality clinical education of students in various forms: including simulated placement, telehealth placement, external and internal placements; lead the demonstration of engagement within the University through contributions to governance; coordination of and participation in School capacity-building activities; and activities that contribute to the student experience; lead the development of productive industry and community links that benefit students, the community, and/or the University; contribute to research and/or scholarly activity aligned with clinical expertise to inform teaching and clinical education. About you: Our candidate will possess strong subject matter expertise, pedagogical expertise, excellent communication skills, a passion for teaching and learning, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to innovative and engaging teaching methods. This includes a deep understanding of pedagogical principles and instructional strategies, including implementing effective teaching methods to enhance student learning outcomes. You will create a conducive learning environment, maintaining discipline and fostering a positive atmosphere for learning. Assessment and feedback; designing fair and relevant assessments to evaluate student progress and areas for improvement. Adaptability and flexibility; adapt to diverse learning needs and situations, adjusting the teaching approach based on student feedback and emerging educational trends. Continuous professional development; a commitment to own professional growth and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge, attend workshops, conferences, and engage in research to stay current. You will possess: completion or near-completion of a PhD qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing or a minimum of ten years clinical experience as an accredited profession in the field of study; effectiveness as a teacher, which is evidenced by student feedback on clinical teaching and student supervision placement in various forms: including simulated placement, telehealth placement, external and internal placements using valid instrument/s, peer review, and/or student outcomes; evidence of leadership of quality clinical education of undergraduate students in various forms: including simulated, telehealth, external, and internal placements; membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups and/or in professional practice and evidence of leading the development of new partnerships.
