Continuing, full-time $107,734 to $127,683 (Level B) Plus 17% employer superannuation Salary packaging options are available 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum Relocation assistance provided Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position) About the role The School of Environmental and Rural Science has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in the discipline of Agronomy and Soil Science to provide excellence in teaching and research and demonstrated expertise in soil science, crop agronomy and water management. The successful candidate will formulate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, build upon existing agronomy and soil science units, contribute to research groups by applying for research grants, undertaking research and supervision of HDR students in relevant disciplines, take an active role in curriculum development and coordination within the School, and perform administrative duties as necessary to maintain a high level of functionality within the School. You will join a world-leading research environment and build on the reputation and unique research infrastructure at UNE for excellence in soil and agronomic research. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in crop agronomy and/or soil science. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in soil water dynamics and design of sustainable water management in productive agricultural systems in rain-fed agriculture and irrigated enterprises such as cotton, and horticultural crops. You should have demonstrated experience as a lecturer delivering research-informed, student-centred teaching, in both online and face-to-face settings. You should be able to demonstrate effectiveness as a supervisor of higher degree research students, and bring to the role an emerging research profile, with success in securing independent funding, building collaborative relationships with industry and funding bodies, and a track record of high-impact publications.
