This role will specifically be working within the School of Psychology. About the role: The Lecturer, Education-focused Academic will lead unit teaching teams in PG counselling programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes. The position will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality scholarship and creative activities to enhance student experience and teaching learning outcomes in their discipline area. This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability. As a Lecturer in Counselling, Education-focused, you will: Lead and collaborate on teaching teams to develop inclusive and innovative curricula, resources, and assessments, while providing academic support to students. Integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into teaching, fostering learner engagement and success. Contribute to teaching scholarship and pedagogical research to improve student and graduate outcomes, and engage in professional development programs. Promote a culture of educational excellence by supporting junior colleagues, building pedagogical capabilities, and refining teaching practices. Participate in university citizenship and community engagement activities, contributing to strategic initiatives and professional innovation. To be successful, you’ll have: PhD in a relevant discipline and/or a Masters in Counselling and/or other relevant qualifications and experience Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs in the area of counselling, including innovative curriculum design Demonstrated passion and ability to deliver effective teaching and supervision practices to improve student success and engagement Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs Ability to contribute to communities through research Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and/or administration. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
