About the Role Our Client is seeking an organised and professional Legal Secretary to join their dynamic team in Newcastle. In this role, you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to lawyers across various legal practice areas. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a supportive team, working in a well-established law firm with a reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities Document Management :Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and court filings. Managing both electronic and hard-copy file systems efficiently. Client Liaison :Communicating with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders in a professional and empathetic manner. Scheduling appointments, meetings, and managing lawyers’ busy calendars. Administrative Support :Assisting with billing, timesheet management, and expense processing. Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and post. Coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements when necessary. Court and File Preparation :Collating briefs for court hearings and maintaining litigation schedules. Ensuring deadlines for filings and submissions are met, and documents are prepared in a timely manner. What We’re Looking For Experience :Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role, ideally within a law firm. Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and documentation. Skills :Strong typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualities :Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Client-focused with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
