Your Role and Team The Automation and Lifecycle Marketing manager will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising automated customer journeys that enhance engagement, retention, and repeat borrowing. This role will utilise email, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messaging to deliver personalised customer experiences, ensuring seamless data integration across CRM, CDP, and automation platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in marketing automation, customer segmentation, and lifecycle strategy, along with experience in data-driven personalisation and AI-powered engagement to drive meaningful customer interactions and long-term growth. Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Works closely with: Product, Tech, Digital marketing, Content, Design, Opps and Customer Success Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to: Lifecycle Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute end-to-end lifecycle marketing campaigns to drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth. Map out the customer journey for new, active, returning, and churned users to create personalised automation workflows. Design and optimise trigger-based customer engagement strategies across email, SMS, push, in-app messaging, chatbot and emerging channels like WhatsApp. Implement and test win-back, onboarding, re-engagement, upsell, and cross-sell campaigns. Evaluate and expand customer engagement across non-traditional channels, including website overlays, personalised web experiences. Success Metrics: Increased customer retention and repeat loan applications. Reduced churn rate. Higher engagement and response rates in lifecycle campaigns. Automation and Martech Integration: Own and manage the marketing automation platform (Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar) to ensure seamless campaign execution. Work with API and backend teams to ensure real-time data sync between the app, CRM, and automation tools. Ensure marketing compliance with privacy laws (GDPR, Spam Act 2003, Australian Privacy Principles), opt-in/opt-out policies, and data security standards. Implement event-based triggers for lifecycle journeys, ensuring messages are sent dynamically based on customer behaviour. Monitor and optimise performance metrics through real-time dashboards to measure lifecycle automation impact. Develop reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights on engagement trends, drop-offs, and retention opportunities. Customer Segmentation and Personalisation: Build dynamic, AI-driven segmentation models based on the entire customer lifecycle for lead, application, customer history, behavioural data, and predictive scoring. Develop hyper-personalised messaging to increase repeat and referral participation. Utilise AI-powered recommendations to serve customised offers and transactional communication e.g. repayment and loan topup reminders. Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to improve deliverability, content, frequency, and channel effectiveness. Churn Prevention and Retention Optimisation: Develop predictive churn models to proactively re-engage at-risk customers before they lapse. Automate win-back and inactivity-based offers to encourage re-engagement. Work with the data team to track repayment behaviours and create retention-focused messaging strategies. Provide customer support teams with insights on at-risk customers to enable proactive outreach. Cross-Functional Collaboration and stakeholder management: Work closely with external martech automation providers to scope and implement new features that align with our brand goals. Partner with performance marketing teams to align lifecycle automation with lead acquisition strategies. Collaborate with data and analytics teams to refine customer insights, segmentation, and predictive modelling. Align lifecycle insights with sales and customer support teams to improve retention strategies and proactive customer engagement. Work with product teams to refine onboarding and customer education initiatives based on lifecycle engagement data.
