About the Business Our Concessions and Interpreting Services team delivers a range of concession payments and rebates to eligible South Australians to support, among others, cost of living, and community participation. This team also runs the Interpreting and Translating Centre and the Aboriginal Language Interpreting Service, connecting people using a range of government and non-government settings. As part of the South Australian Government Department of Human Services, the Interpreting and Translating Centre (ITC) has a central focus on excellence in customer service. The ITC is a commercial entity operating within DHS and is a fee-for-service business. ITC also provides Aboriginal language interpreting services to South Australia and other states in Australia. The Manager, Interpreting and Translating Centre (ITC) is accountable to the Director, Concessions and Interpreting Services for providing leadership and advice in the delivery of the State Government’s interpreting and translating services to the public and private sectors; managing the financial, human resources, management systems, and general administrative operations and practices in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures for ITC; initiating and leading effective and complex communication processes with staff and key Government and Community stakeholders; developing and driving organisational strategy. We are seeking a leader with previous management experience, preferably with a customer service delivery focus, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with staff, colleagues, other leaders, and stakeholders. Special Conditions National Police Check required. Some out of hours work may be required. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C). Role Status: Term up to 27/02/2026.
