About the role We have a unique opportunity in a cohesive and dynamic team for a driven self-starter with maintenance experience to demonstrate their passion for service delivery, supporting the Maintenance Lead in providing safe and efficient maintenance services across MercyCare facilities. The role is based primarily in Kelmscott on a permanent part-time basis of 3 work days per week, Monday and Friday with flexibility for the successful candidate to select their preferred third day of work. You will assist with the maintenance of buildings and equipment under the direction of the Lead, scheduling maintenance tasks to a high standard, with safety front of mind in all activities you’re involved in. You will manage reactive maintenance within your remit and approved capabilities in a timely way, support external tradespeople in undertaking on-site repairs, and maintain clinical equipment such as wheelchairs and beds, and ad hoc repairs to company property as and when required to ensure overall upkeep is efficient and timely. About you With a strong attention to detail and a personable and collaborative approach, the successful individual will be flexible, energised, organised and ‘hands on’, taking guidance where needed and working positively with their immediate team and broader work groups to get the job done, with safety and quality at the forefront! Your resilience and ‘can do’ approach will see you to success in this role as will your demonstrated experience in a previous similar handyperson or maintenance trade assistant role. You will also require the following: Evidence of safety-related training Demonstrated handyperson experience in a similar role Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite and able to monitor and manage work tasks Planning and time management ability Resilience and perseverance in managing multiple deadlines National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months) Evidence of Covid and Influenza Vaccination (preferable) About the benefits You’ll join an inclusive and diverse Western Australian organisation making a difference in local communities.
