The opportunity: Australian Outback Spectacular’s Heartland has a unique opportunity for a talented young horseman to play the lead role of Jimmy. Jimmy is a young local lad who offers to help the Carson family bring their cattle in during one of the worst droughts Australia has ever seen. He is caring and honest and has a special place in his heart for the Carson’s daughter Sarah although he has trouble expressing it. As Jimmy struggles to find the words to tell Sarah how he feels he is taken on an amazing journey when he catches and tries to tame a beautiful black brumby. Skills and Experience: Must possess an extremely high level of ridden ability and horsemanship. Competitive background advantageous. Show reel will be required with application. To attend physicals as directed by VRTP and the ability to maintain physical fitness for the role. Possess the physical attributes to play the age range between 18 – 30. The ability to demonstrate strong performance skills. Previous acting in a live theatrical environment is desirable. Singing experience is advantageous but not essential.
