RBS Finance provides financial information and business advice to support our business units to build sustainable shareholder value. RBS Finance forms part of the Financial Services (FS) support unit, whose vision is to make a difference on the things that matter. Do work that matters Our team partners with stakeholders to surface data-driven insights, develop management reporting, and provide data governance expertise for the RBS and Bankwest CFO, GM Retail Products Finance, GM Distribution Finance and GM Performance Reporting and their respective teams. We also act as a conduit between Finance and other data stakeholders and teams across the organization to support RBS-wide objectives. Your Impact and Contribution This role is a key position in the Business Intelligence team, providing data expertise in the generation of insights and self-serve data assets for all RBS Finance teams. This engaging role exposes you to all RBS functions and products as your analyses support activities performed across RBS, leading to meaningful outcomes for the Bank. The BI Manager role supports the wider RBS Finance team, developing and maintaining reporting and data assets, driving non-financial data insights into business performance, and supporting strategic decision making. The role is also key to driving team-wide adoption and upskilling into new tools and technologies, including Generative AI, and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx. This role reports into the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, and is part of the BI team. The BI team is comprised of 4 FTE, inclusive of this role, within the RBS Business Performance team that is made up of circa 17 FTE. The role supports the coaching of peers on business intelligence is expected and involves supporting Graduate employees engaged by the RBS Finance BI team. Your responsibilities Work with the Retail Finance and BI teams to manage and deliver a pipeline of actionable, data-driven insights supporting high profile key strategic initiatives. Design and develop reporting and self-serve data assets, primarily utilising Tableau and the Group Data Warehouse (Teradata SQL). Manage stakeholders across Finance and external teams, engaging on business intelligence activities and contributing to strategically important projects, providing valuable exposure to senior leadership (including Executive Managers, General Managers and the CFO of RBS). Drive effective development of BI capability and data acumen across the team. Represent RBS Finance on projects impacting Finance data and reporting. Provide advice and leadership to drive process and reporting efficiency across RBS Finance. Innovate on novel issues and data through use of the Group’s Data assets as well as the latest visualisation and AI tools. Assist in the development and management of data governance practices. Undertake any other tasks assigned by the manager of this role that can be competently and safely performed. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Intermediate SQL experience (Teradata preferred) in dealing with large volumes of data. Demonstrable ability in using data to generate actionable, commercial insights. Experience building reporting in Tableau that is sustainable and supportable. Demonstrated ability to quickly understand, evaluate and analyse unfamiliar data sets in new domains. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all management levels. Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and drive project Delivery. Knowledge of retail banking or financial data sets will be beneficial. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Graduate qualifications in a numerate, business or analytics discipline. Banking or finance experience in a similar environment also viewed favourably.
