Manager Communications - Campaigns and Projects Branch: Campaigns & Projects Division: Communications Salary: Level 8, $151,827 - $164,428 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) This is a permanent full-time position commencing March 2025 The Communications Directorate works to ensure all our activities enhance the image and reputation of the Department and promote Western Australian Government initiatives in education. We achieve this by providing a range of services to all areas of the Department, including internal and external communications, communications campaigns and strategies, brand management, strategic communications advice, media strategy and management, events, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, as well as public relations and marketing activities for a wide range of programs and audiences. The Role We are looking for a dynamic Communications Manager to lead our Campaigns and Projects team. In this role, you will: Lead high-value, multi-audience campaigns, ensuring seamless integration across communication channels. Coordinate large-scale events and across system student engagement challenges. Provide expert advice and analysis to senior executives and the Director General, supporting high-level decision-making on complex issues. Oversee the preparation of Cabinet submissions, Ministerial briefing notes, and key reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with government priorities. Build and maintain strong professional relationships including representing the Department at government, industry, and stakeholder forums. Utilise your expertise in emerging media trends and communication strategies to shape innovative campaigns, ensuring alignment with the State Government’s “digital first” approach and enhancing the Department’s reputation. Contribute as a key leader within the Communications Directorate by managing resources and people, budgets and physical assets, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Mentor and coach team members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to deliver impactful communication initiatives.
