See yourself in our team: Group Credit Structuring (GCS) aims to support our customers by understanding their financial difficulties and working to develop balanced outcomes for our stakeholders.Our commitment is to work with our business partners in supporting customers who are experiencing financial difficulties, to stabilize their position with the view to rehabilitation and returning management to the line of business. Where this is not possible, GCS will work with customers in a collaborative and respectful manner that meets community and shareholder expectations. Through early engagement, sharing insights and data, GCS influences and drives outcomes across a wide range of stakeholders. Where it has not been possible to obtain the cooperation of the customer or where they voluntarily surrender their assets, the Customer & Collateral Management Team (CCM) works with external specialists to take possession of our security property/assets. As part of CCM’s function, when a customer is transferred to our team, a full review of past interactions is undertaken to ensure the strategy adopted is appropriate. At times, the review process will lead to further discussions with the client and recovery/restructuring of debt without the need for legal action. CCM is also engaged to manage matters where customers have initiated litigation against the Bank supported by the GCS Legal Team. Do work that matters: Reporting to the Senior Manager GCS Customer & Collateral Management, this role will draw on your broad banking skills to support the GCS Team in delivering the best outcomes for our customers who are experiencing financial difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting the broader GCS Team to enable better risk and compliance outcomes and provide them with guidance and advice. On any given day you will: Review previously approved strategies in place for appropriateness for customers migrated from the broader GCS team to CCM where realization of assets is proposed. Review documentation held to ensure enforcement action is supported by properly obtained and executed security documentation. Maintain a portfolio of matters made up of asset realization matters and some defended litigation matters (supported by Group Legal). Engage with external collection agents. Engage with property presenters/selling agents. Engage with GCS Legal and external solicitors. Preparation of strategy and credit papers. Exercising a delegation. Collaborate with and update various internal and external stakeholders. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Strong commercial credit skills. Exposure to litigation matters – not necessarily a lawyer. Awareness of legal aspects/impacts on transactions and recovery action to be taken including documentation. Ability to critically review customer matters where the customer is in financial difficulty and ensure the agreed strategy is appropriate. Understand and apply the “Should We Test” – achieving a balanced outcome. Attention to detail. Networking skills/established group wide network. Strong stakeholder management with the ability to push back and say ‘no’.
