Join to apply for the Manager (Digital Design) role at Department of Transport and Main Roads . We are seeking a permanent Manager (Digital Design) to provide digital leadership and advocacy across TMR for human centred and participatory design methods, enabling and facilitating collaborative approaches to service improvement and new service design efforts across a wide range of projects and initiatives. In this role you will drive discovery processes, engage stakeholders in the design of services and create prototypes, working towards solution design and delivery for a wide range of devices and interfaces, considering all channels. Some Of Your Responsibilities Include Setting the direction and leading the organisations efforts to build design capability by enabling, educating and empowering internal customers to embrace and adopt design practices to creatively solve complex problems in the end-to-end service environment, in a timely, proactive, and non-technical manner and holistically considering both the customer and staff experience. Conducting hands on design research with users to understand their current experiences and pain points (including facilitating workshops), designing wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimised for various devices and interfaces, and rapidly testing and iterating designs with stakeholders using service and digital prototypes, taking a human-centered design approach to ensure the solutions are effective and user-friendly. Developing, actively operating, and maintaining effective networks and relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, other government agencies (federal, state and local) and suppliers in a complex environment of change. Driving autonomy in the team by leading and empowering others to take ownership for the delivery and quality of outcomes achieved. Seeking out new models and developments that may inform the team's approach, while providing individualised support and consultation to support any potential change processes. Requirements Of The Role Tertiary qualification in design or related field would be beneficial, though is not required. Proven experience in human-centered design and service design methods. Demonstrated experience in senior engagement and organisational change management activities. Passionate and experienced in enabling customers in digital ways of working. Driven to expand knowledge and experience through networks, new assignments and development avenues. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
