About the role We’re seeking a Manager Economic Insights to analyse and leverage economic data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to drive decision-making within Customer Solutions & Australian Market Partnering (CS&). You’ll join an innovative team, who partner with senior stakeholders and work collaboratively to create opportunities and drive a better understanding of collections performance. As our Manager Economic Insights, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work. Day-to-day, you will: Identify trends, patterns and correlations in economic data to inform business strategies. Collaborate with the transport analytics team to identify patterns, user behaviour, and trends related to account creation and usage. Produce and present clear and sound recommendations and strategies developed through analysis; translate complex economic concepts into actionable recommendations. Drive continuous improvement in the budgeting and forecasting process. Develop and implement reporting that supports identification of economic trends, motorist behaviour, demographics etc. to support actionable insights. Define the scope of economic data collection (internal and external sources). This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: Proven experience in economic analysis, data interpretation, and trend identification. High level interpersonal skills including demonstrated verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively at all levels, with team members, customers and members of other work groups. Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches. Experience in manipulating and analysing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources. Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred). Strong PC-based systems skills including Microsoft packages. Proficiency in statistical software for data analysis, such as R and Python. Proficiency in SQL. Proficiency with visualisation tools, such as Tableau. If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application. With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including: A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year. 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well. Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests. Health and wellbeing support — access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more. Share offers and insurance benefits. Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days. We offer a range of flexible working and leave options , so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
