The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation is seeking a Manager, Employee Engagement to lead a high-performing team within the Communications and Public Engagement (CaPE) branch. The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation is seeking a Manager, Employee Engagement to lead the Internal Communications and Employee Engagement team within the Communications and Public Engagement (CaPE) branch. This is a leadership role focused on driving strategic internal communication initiatives that enhance employee engagement across a diverse workforce. Your Contribution As the Manager, Employee Engagement, you will be responsible for providing authoritative and strategic advice to senior management while leading a high performing team. You will oversee the development and implementation of the department's Internal Communications Strategy, ensuring clear, effective, and engaging communication across all levels of the organisation. Your role will involve managing workflows, overseeing financial and human resources, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. Working closely with CaPE's management team, you will contribute to key functions, including traditional, digital and social media, web and creative services, community and stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications. In This Role, You Will Develop, consult on, and implement communication frameworks and policies tailored to a complex and diverse workforce, including frontline and corporate employees. Lead and supervise a team, managing strategic development, workload distribution, time management, and financial performance. Define and execute internal communication strategies for senior executives and employee engagement initiatives, using strong influencing and negotiation skills. Deliver high-quality internal and corporate communications, including innovative staff engagement strategies, new communication channels, and executive positioning plans. Continuously evaluate communication initiatives, using research and insights to improve engagement outcomes. Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior executives, key internal stakeholders, and external partners. Oversee budget management, including forecasting and expenditure tracking. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people, actively contributing to better outcomes through meaningful engagement. What We Are Looking For We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams, ensuring high performance and strategic alignment. Experience in developing and implementing innovative internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement. An understanding of contemporary internal communications trends and a drive to innovate and improve. Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and solve complex communication challenges. A strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of internal communication initiatives.
