Job Title: Manager, Individual Giving West Department: Development Location: Western US; preferred CA, AZ, NV, CO, Pacific Northwest FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Director, Individual Giving Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. We are currently seeking candidates for the Manager, Individual Giving West position. The ideal candidate must reside in the Western U.S. , with a preference for California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, or the Pacific Northwest. The Manager, Individual Giving is tasked with creating and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors across the Western United States. This role places a special emphasis on securing gifts of $5,000 and more to support Operation Homefront’s programs and its $100M United We Stand Comprehensive Campaign. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s reputation among individual donors. Desired candidates will have: Passion for Operation Homefront’s mission to serve military families. Demonstrated experience in prospecting, qualifying, soliciting, and successfully securing gifts from individual donors of $5,000 or more, with quantifiable results. Proven track record of securing and conducting meaningful donor interactions, including regular in-person visits to qualify, engage, solicit, and steward major donors and prospects. Minimum of two years of progressive responsibility and demonstrated success in major gift fundraising. Strong ability to set ambitious goals and oversee their successful execution. Experience in inspiring and managing high-profile individuals and senior executives. Exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach, and strategic thinking abilities. Valid driver’s license. Acceptable MVR (annual). Criminal background check. Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred. Primary job duties include: Manage a portfolio of 125–150 individual donors and prospects with the capacity to give $5,000+, fostering donor relationships and achieving all assigned goals. Engage in all stages of the donor lifecycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition. Prioritize and manage the caseload pipeline effectively. Create tailored strategies and materials to renew and upgrade donor gifts, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all donor interactions within the donor database. Provide direct support to the Senior Executive Team in prospecting, meeting preparation, and stewarding high-net-worth donors within the Western U.S. Collaborate with the Regional Directors and Development Managers, Direct Response Team, IPR, Marketing and Corporate & Foundation Giving teams to strengthen internal and donor relationships, enhancing fundraising and outreach opportunities. Process all paperwork related to major gifts and campaign contributions, including pledges. Perform additional duties as requested to support organizational goals. Other Details: General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel for meetings, training sessions, and other business-related events, including overnight trips. Requires 20% travel with the possibility of evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
