Placemaking is particularly vital in mixed-tenure developments, as it enables diverse communities to thrive together, fostering social cohesion and a shared identity.As our Manager, Placemaking, you will lead a specialist team and engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop, deliver and measure placemaking initiatives that enhance well-being, foster inclusion, promote sustainable tenancies and create vibrant, thriving communities. You will ensure that placemaking is at the centre of our work, including ensuring that resident voice informs the design of new developments.What you’ll do You will: Lead the development, implementation and measurement of Housing Choices’ first national placemaking strategy, through proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders; Develop commissioning plans for new mixed-tenure developments that may include a mix of social, affordable and market housing, as well as National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Specialist Disability Accommodation, to create cohesive communities and sustain tenancies; Oversee allocations for all dwellings to ensure placemaking is at the core of our offer, including at new developments as well as established sites; Oversee community engagement plans and initiatives to support our Placemaking Strategy, including creating opportunities for a diverse range of residents to design and participate in design and build activities, drawing upon lived experience of our residents. Skills and Experiences: What You’ll Bring You will have a proven ability to develop and deliver effective strategies and plans that achieve inclusive social impact, and a strong understanding of community development, engagement and co-design principles. Key to success in this role will be your ability to engage and influence a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including partners, government agencies, service providers, and community groups.You will also have proven experience in managing successful teams and engaging respectfully with a broad range of people, including people from diverse backgrounds, people with disability, and people with high support needs.
