As the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, the department is responsible for regulating Queensland's early childhood education and care sector. The Licensing team, within the Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, is responsible for approving early childhood education and care providers and services in Queensland under the National Quality Framework and in accordance with our contemporary risk-based framework, Regulating for Quality. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to the Licensing team's regulatory officers within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority. Be responsible for statutory decision making as it applies to the licensing of early childhood education and care services, guided by Regulating for Quality. Support regional office regulatory officers across Queensland within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority with licensing decisions relevant to early childhood education and care services. The Manager, Regulation reports to the Director, Regulation. Responsibilities Include: Managing the implementation of consistent, transparent and robust regulatory practice in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making and the ECEC legislation. Making complex decisions and providing advice to senior management on regulatory issues while considering the legal and policy implications. Overseeing recommendations and decisions as well as providing high quality guidance and training to the team to ensure quality, defensibility and consistency. Guiding individuals and the team in the application of risk-based regulatory frameworks, identifying and rectifying issues and gaps in guidance and tools. About You As the Manager you will: Have previous experience as a regulator or decision maker in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making. Demonstrate great time management and strong communication skills. Be able to identify risk and emerging issues and have the ability to provide advice and solutions. Have previous experience managing a team and complex matters.
