Greater Brisbane Clinical School Part-time (60%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2025 Base salary will be in the range $113,377.67 - $127,112.24 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8) Based at our Princess Alexandra Hospital - Woolloongabba About This Opportunity The Research Program Manager collaborates closely with Chief Investigators and their research teams to identify, develop, implement, and improve outcomes for the Mental and Physical Health Research Program at PA Southside Clinical School. Key responsibilities will include: Technical/Scientific : Define scientific requirements, dependencies, milestones, and sequences for research programs/projects of varying sizes, scopes, and delivery phases. Manage access to research facilities, equipment, and capabilities essential for effective research delivery; assist in identifying technical expertise and supporting staff recruitment for key research outcomes. Research Management : Collaborate with Chief Investigators and research teams to develop and implement programs/projects relevant to the research life-cycle stages. Provide high-level project management and contribute to the development of performance measures, research management improvements, and quality assurance activities in collaboration with senior research staff and stakeholders. Safety: Lead a proactive safety culture and implement continuous improvement, ensure staff adhere to a high standard of occupational health and safety standards and systems, including inductions. Leadership and Management : Exercise 'Manager' level leadership and management responsibilities aligned with the UQ Leadership Framework. Manage research projects, consulting activities, associated personnel, and provide high-level support for research administration, including guidance on research conduct obligations like human ethics and conflicts of interest. Partnerships and Business Engagement: Generate, grow, and develop strategic linkages with industry/other partners to support current strategic research objectives and identify new potential research opportunities. About You We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Research Program/Project Manager to manage the successful delivery of the Mental and Physical Health Research program at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR). The successful candidate will have significant experience and expertise in research development and program management. Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive research management experience (preferably in the tertiary education or research sectors); or an undergraduate degree, extensive research management experience, and other relevant education/training. A PhD or progress towards a PhD in the health or physical activity field would be highly regarded in this role. Demonstrated capacity to develop, manage, and coordinate research projects in a multidisciplinary environment. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with industry personnel and other stakeholders at a senior level. Proven ability to manage, lead, and develop staff, including other technical staff within a research team environment. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to understand and present complex content in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated research facilitation skills, with the ability to identify relevant research linkages and facilitate communication among diverse groups of research stakeholders including industry partners. Advanced knowledge of grant writing. Significant experience of working in a health academic partnership across universities and health services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct research documentation.
