Manager Strata Investigations - NSW Fair Trading Clerk Grade: 11/12 ($145,378 to $168,130 + Superannuation)Duration: Ongoing, fulltimeLocation: Parramatta 2 – 3 days per week, with other locations considered and hybrid and flexible working conditions available. Applications Close: Wednesday 19th March 2025 (9.59am) About the role NSW Fair Trading is looking for driven and passionate people who want to make a difference for people living in strata, retirement villages and residential land lease communities. As part of the new Strata and Property Taskforce in NSW Fair Trading, we are recruiting for a newly created role to lead one of our Investigation teams. This role will enable us to protect consumers, enforce professional standards across over 60,000 operators and restore confidence to the property sector. We want to hear from people who have excellent leadership skills, are passionate about fact-finding and problem solving, and are outcomes driven. We are looking for people with experience in leading investigation functions and a track record of successfully achieving regulatory outcomes. We would like to hear from candidates with investigative leadership experience in different fields, including regulators, law enforcement, insurance investigators, audit and forensic accounting, investigative journalism, and local councils. What you’ll do Lead investigations into property and strata-related offences Gather and analyze evidence to drive fair outcomes Resolve complex disputes and enforce compliance Engage with stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability Work within a fast-paced team committed to integrity and justice What we’re after Investigative expertise Experience in conducting thorough and complex investigations Regulatory knowledge – Understanding of legislation, compliance and enforcement, particularly across strata and property regulatory frameworks Critical thinking Strong analytical skills and sound decision-making Communication and negotiation – Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and deliver outcomes Adaptability – Stay calm, impartial and focused in high-pressure and high-volume environments Must-Haves Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent experience/willingness to obtain through employer-sponsored program) Strong understanding of investigative processes, rules of evidence, and brief preparation A current NSW driver’s licence & willingness to travel when required Experience in people management What we need from you: An up-to-date CV and a cover letter of no more than 2 pages outlining how your knowledge, skills, and experience are aligned to the role.
