As The Manager You Will Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the unit's priorities, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned to, and supportive of, the department's agenda. Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the unit's priorities. The Manager reports to the nominated senior officer of the nominated work unit. Your Role Responsibilities include: Provide high level advice and support to senior officers on policy and strategy relating to the nominated area. Contribute, as a member of the senior management team, to setting the strategic direction for the unit and ensuring the effectiveness of policies, standards and procedures. Coordinate and contribute to the strategic direction and activities as defined in priorities set by senior management. Provide ongoing evaluation of the activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals. Lead and manage multiple teams and projects and coordinate the development of systemic initiatives relating to departmental priorities. Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of State and Commonwealth funds, where applicable, and manage reporting requirements. Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within nominated area, across the department and with other external stakeholders. Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders and clients. Prepare and review briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to the functional area of the branch at state, national and international levels. Promote leadership and foster a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for staff, which encourages commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
