With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge. About the role As the Manager – Timetable Change, this role will see you reporting to the Director – Operational Planning & Readiness within the Operations Group. The primary focus of this role is to lead the readiness activities required to successfully deliver new timetables. You will collaborate with the Master Timetabling team, who are responsible for the timetable build, to ensure that all necessary preparations are in place for the timely implementation of these timetables, while also supporting continuous improvements to services across the V/Line network. Key accountabilities include: Engaging and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders, including public transport government agencies and transport operators, to maintain strong relationships and manage interdependencies. Applying Project and Change Management processes in accordance with V/Line frameworks to successfully deliver all timetable changes, ensuring that all operational requirements and risks are properly identified and managed. Proactively managing risks and issues related to timetable changes at both the strategic and operational levels, ensuring that all activities stay on track and within budget. Driving continuous improvement in the management of timetable changes, as well as ensuring the documentation and sharing of best practices and lessons learned within the team. Providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership teams, ensuring that all proposed timetable changes and operational requirements are thoroughly assessed and communicated effectively across various levels within V/Line. About you We are looking for someone with experience in a similar project advisory, readiness, or delivery role, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders and respond to complex and changing timeframes in an agile manner. Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Experience in applying readiness activities and relevant project advisory skills in a similar operational role (note: this role does not require the candidate to build master timetables). An understanding of the public transport sector and the Victorian Government context and priorities is desirable. Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare high-level reports and business cases for internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in planning using project management software such as MS Project or similar tools. A strong understanding of risk management and mitigation practices. If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and believe in the potential for growth and development.
