About The Role Are you ready to build out the operational performance improvement offering in the Benelux and drive our teams and clients to the next level of performance? In Business Transformation at FTI Consulting, we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. Our services include pre-deal commercial and operations due diligence, post-merger integration, business plan development, restructuring and performance improvement including interim management. Our demanding customer base relies on small and senior teams. Within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring Business Transformations segment, the Operations & Performance Improvement Practice connects organization’s strategy to the frontline operations. We offer solutions to help our clients maximize operational performance and position themselves to proactively meet today’s increasing challenges. The Operational Performance Management team provides clients with resources, assessments, tools and data-driven analytics to enable transformation at speed, profitable revenue growth and cost optimization. What You’ll Do As a successful Managing Director, in a highly entrepreneurial environment, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead and execute (international) client engagements across industries on operational performance improvement. You are responsible for creating opportunities, leading and scaling programs, bringing the next level of insights and impact, overseeing the (client) teams and driving senior stakeholder management within the wide array of performance improvement solutions. In addition, you will initiate and lead (ongoing) business development activities and develop the practice further as part of our growth plan. Which involves: Leading initial hypothesis and project approach to debate with FTIs client lead Taking responsibility for end-to-end delivery of large workstream or overall project Active participation in C-suite client and middle management internal meetings Coaching, motivating, and addressing the required steps within the project team How You’ll Grow The role will allow you flexibility to put in place your own framework for success and to work collaboratively with the wider team to support the exciting growth in the FTI Corporate Finance practice with focus on Operational Performance Improvement. The role is by its nature, flexible allowing for the expansion of opportunities or responsibilities outside of the areas set out above into other matters that you feel can contribute to the broader remit to enhance our operational performance improvement group. There is also significant opportunity to interact with experts across FTI and/or develop thought leadership. Given the focus on operational performance improvement expertise, the role will demand that you remain keen to learn, and full support will be given to third-party training or coaching required to assist with the role. What You Will Need to Succeed Basic Qualifications & Experience: Educated to university degree level (or equivalent), preferably in business or engineering Demonstrable significant operational performance improvement experience (not limited to operational excellence, lean management), preferably in an industrial and manufacturing environment Strong leadership skills leading project and client teams and driving the initial sales cycle Ability to demonstrate deliverable results across multiple functions in the following focus areas: • Business plan review/development • Operations Excellent consulting and leadership skills to motivate teams assuring a good working environment under pressure, specifically: • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to lead team members and clients at all levels using a range of styles to suit the audience • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Relationship building skills, with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships • Proven ability to take a hypothesis focused approach to solve problems • Excellent organizational and planning skills and confident working with several demanding stakeholders, with the ability to handle multiple tasks • Preferably skilled in Lean management Strong collaboration skills and ability Flexible approach to work, with the desire and capability to work across sectors, project types and regions Excellent English and Dutch proficiency and other languages of an advantage International cultural awareness (given the global nature of our clients) Our goal is to support the well-being of you and your families—physically, emotionally, and financially.
