Job Description

Marketing And Public Relations Specialist Are you a dynamic PR and Marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, fun environment, juggles multiple projects with ease, and loves the big energy of festivals and events? The company AHOY Management is one of WA’s leading destination event specialists, known for creating unforgettable food, wine, and cultural festivals across the state. You might have heard of Cabin Fever Festival (a winter celebration in Margaret River) or Subi Spritz (a Southern-European inspired food & wine event in Subiaco). Our roster also includes Taste Great Southern, Bunuru, and Pair’d Margaret River Region. We are a female-led, collaborative, and creative team based between Perth and Margaret River — and we’re looking for the right person to bring our events and brands to life through strategic PR and marketing. As AHOY’s team is split between Perth and Margaret River, we’re open to applicants from either location, with travel between both expected from time to time, especially during event periods. We are looking for the right person for our team, so we are open to Full Time or Part Time for the right candidate and based in either the Margaret River Region or Perth. We believe in fostering a supportive workplace where ideas are encouraged and each team member is valued. We are a tight-knit, all-female team that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and professional growth, helping each other out when needed. The role Your job is to manage the PR, communications, and strategic marketing plan and roll-out for our annual roster of events, plus the AHOY brand. You’d be armed with loads of exciting event concepts, and your job will be to market each of our festivals to their respective audiences through public relations, strategic campaign rollout, content creation, eDMs, blogs, media releases, and more. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality marketing and branding outcomes, working with a range of partners and suppliers to get the job done. If you’re a person who loves to communicate and market fun brands, has an eye for detail, can manage working across multiple projects at once, and is happy to take charge, we want to hear from you! About you You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strategic marketing experience, an attention to detail when it comes to content creation, an eye for beautiful aesthetics, and love to be organized. You’ll also need to have the confidence to work alongside a variety of stakeholders and businesses and enjoy the creativity (and grit!) needed to take charge of our event marketing campaigns. Strong project management skills will be key, as you’ll be handling overlapping deadlines across different festivals. You will be confident and capable of managing projects end-to-end, working closely with our team, stakeholders, and suppliers. Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a small team/company and have the ability to be across multiple projects at once. Experience in events and/or event marketing is a plus, as this can be a fast-paced environment. At AHOY, we operate inside the values of playfulness, boldness, warmth, integrity, and collaboration, and we’re on the hunt for staff who align with these values too. Plus, we have a penchant for wine and food (it features in all of our festivals and events!) Key roles and tasks: Media and Public Relations - Media release writing, communicating with media, contact list management, arranging media visits, creating media pitches, nurturing media relationships. Marketing Campaign Strategy and Rollout - Liaise with designers, printers, service providers, and publications to roll out each festival’s marketing campaign. Collaboration and leadership – work closely with internal teams, coordinate tasks with and stay ahead of industry trends to drive innovation. Plus other jobs - Supporting our sponsors and their deliverables roll-out, research such as upcoming trends and best-practice marketing, ad hoc design work.
