Add expected salary to your profile for insights The Martuwarra Fitzroy River Project Manager will lead the management, development and delivery of project activities that advance Traditional Owner rights and aspirations relating to water management and planning. A key focus of the role will be managing and delivering a comprehensive Traditional Owner engagement process about proposed water allocation planning in the Kimberley (primarily the Fitzroy-Derby water allocation planning area), including working with Kimberley Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Traditional Owners, other stakeholders and the WA Government Department for Water, Environment and Regulation (DWER). The role will oversee project delivery and will lead a project team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Management Oversee delivery of a Traditional Owner engagement process about water planning in the Kimberley (primarily the Fitzroy-Derby water allocation planning area). Liaise with PBCs, Traditional Owners, DWER and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives and outcomes. Enhance and support cultural governance frameworks and free prior and informed decision-making processes. Manage project stakeholder engagement, including expert consultants and relevant KLC staff. Oversee the achievement of project deliverables including large forums, working group meetings and out of session engagements. Prepare reports, briefings and other documentation relating to the project. Strategic Policy Development and Advice Provide strategic water planning advice to PBCs and Traditional Owners, in partnership with expert consultants and other KLC staff. Develop project resource materials to effectively communicate key information about water planning to PBCs and Traditional Owners. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including the KLC Executive Board and Representative Council, PBCs, Traditional Owners, government agencies, and NGOs. Collaborate with the KLC executive and senior management team to ensure appropriate professional management and integration with all other projects and the needs of Traditional Owners. Oversee project budgets and external reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with KLC finance policies, procedures and contractual agreements. Occupational Safety and Health Prioritise and manage the continuous improvement of safe working practices, processes and policies. Actively contribute to the health and safety of the workplace by adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures. Compliance Comply with all internal KLC policies and procedures and ensure the team's adherence. Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to the KLC Vision and its Values. Other Participate and assist in KLC and relevant on-country events as required. Other tasks as directed. SELECTION CRITERIA: Applications require the selection criteria to be addressed. Essential Qualifications and or experience in relevant disciplines, such as conservation and land management, water policy and planning, community engagement, project management or other relevant field. Proven ability to manage projects in partnership with Traditional Owners and in line with cultural governance frameworks and free prior and informed decision making. Demonstrated high level project management, including administration and financial management skills. Demonstrated experience in team leadership, ideally in a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary setting. Demonstrated experience in project reporting, including project acquittals and budgetary reporting. Experience developing partnerships and delivering projects in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders. Well organised and able to meet deadlines and competing priorities. Current C Class Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel and camp in remote areas.
