Graduate Hydraulic and Fire Protection Services Engineer Alphazeta Group is a Perth based, locally owned 26 strong multi-disciplinary infrastructure and building services consultancy. We provide client-focused engineering services design, management, and advisory services both locally and nationally. We have a broad range of project and client types at any one time ranging from greenfield to brownfield, developers to asset managers, and government to private. About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic Hydraulic and Fire Protection Services Engineer with local and national project experience to join and contribute to our growing team to deliver a wide range of projects for our clients. The role requires the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a broad range of audiences, develop an understanding of industry trends, interpret and apply standards, codes, and local regulatory authority requirements, and be a team player with a positive attitude, focused on delivery to ensure repeat business. You will be based with the Alphazeta team in our Perth CBD office, easily accessed via public transport. The role will require occasional travel to and from sites autonomously or with Alphazeta team members. You must be an Australian Citizen/Resident or New Zealand Citizen currently working in Australia as a Hydraulic and Fire Protection Services Engineer to be considered for this role. Key Responsibilities Undertaking basic Hydraulic Services design and calculations for:Sanitary drainage Waste water treatment Stormwater drainage and disposal Stormwater harvesting Subsoil drainage Drinking water reticulation systems Drinking water treatment systems Hot water generation Hot water reticulation systems Fire hydrant systems Undertaking basic Fire Protection Services design and calculations:Fire sprinkler protection Fire hydrant and fire hose reel systems Coordination with external and internal design team members Interpreting and applying clients' and stakeholders' hydraulic services requirements and design guidelines Communicating with senior and intermediate Hydraulic and Fire Protection Services Engineers to interpret their high-level concept designs Interpreting local regulatory authorities, Plumbers Licensing Board, DFES, and Water Corporation of Western Australia requirements Liaising with builders, fire contractors, and plumbers before, during, and after construction through site meetings, correspondence, and documentation reviews Developing an understanding of other design team members' designs and how they impact hydraulic services Participating in technical due diligence inspections assisting with input on existing hydraulic and fire services assets and infrastructure Working to agreed timelines and required deliverables to meet and exceed clients' and stakeholders' expectations Maintaining existing client relationships through your performance to ensure repeat business. To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Mechanical Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia A minimum of 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in hydraulic and fire protection services design in Australia Experience with Plumbing Performance Solutions in accordance with the National Construction Code of Australia requirements Understanding of building classifications in the National Construction Code of Australia Volume 1 Ability to interpret and apply Plumbing Code of Australia, AS3500 Plumbing and Drainage standard, AS 2118 Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems, AS2419 Fire Hydrant Systems, and AS2441 Installation of Fire Hose Reels Ability to interpret and apply Water Corporation of Western Australia requirements for trade waste and backflow prevention Ability to interpret and apply DFES technical requirements for fire systems Ability to interpret and modify specifications to meet project requirements Ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously Intelligible verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage time to complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously meeting internal and external deadlines Attention to detail and ability to actively participate in QA/peer reviews with Senior Hydraulic and Fire Protection Engineers Fire Hydrant Systems design experience will be favourably considered Experience with AutoCAD and Revit Experience with Bluebeam Experience with Excel and Word Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
