Award/Classification: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement, Allied Health Professional, Level 1-2 Employment type: Full Time Region: South Location: The successful applicant will become an integral part of the current team performing routine and specialised tests in the field of diagnostic/clinical bacteriology in a high-paced microbiology laboratory. The Team: Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Microbiology department is a dedicated team that works closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. The Role: The successful applicant will perform routine and specialised tests in the field of diagnostic/clinical bacteriology in a high-paced microbiology laboratory. You will need: Experience working in a diagnostic bacteriology laboratory. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership skills and the ability to be self-motivated and show initiative. Details of appointment: Permanent, full-time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum + Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Satisfactory completion of a Bachelor degree or higher in Biomedical Science or an equivalent qualification with subjects relevant to the field of pathology from a recognised tertiary institution. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in a diagnostic clinical microbiology laboratory. Additional Information: Participation in weekend and out-of-hours call-back roster will be required.
