Job Description

About us:The Medical Workforce Support Unit (MWSU) provides advice and assistance to the Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS) and Directors of Medical Services (DMS's) in relation to medical officer employment for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). MWSU has an HHS wide operational responsibility for medical workforce recruitment and onboarding with the focus on designing, delivering and supporting a sustainable medical workforce model for CQ Health. This includes: Attraction, recruitment and on-boarding of Senior, visiting and Junior Medical Staff (permanent and temporary). Term allocations for Interns and Resident Medical Officers. Sourcing and engagement of all Locum Medical Officers. Coordinating the credentialing and scope of clinical practice for Senior and visiting Medical Officers and Dentists. Advice and support to the Executive Leadership Team and Clinical Directors. Compliance with clinical and corporate governance relevant to Medical Officers (credentialing, medical registration and immigration). The Unit works closely with the CQHHS Medical Education Unit (MEU) to ensure that there is alignment between educational needs of the medical workforce and recruitment and service provision. About the role: Facilitates and supports the seamless process of medical employment by contributing to a team based and client focussed environment. Coordinates a high quality and effective recruitment and appointment service for Junior Medical Officers for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Facilitates the medical registration renewal and assists with the temporary visa sponsorship process for Junior Medical Staff. About you: Ability to proactively plan, establish work priorities and function with a high degree of independence, whilst meeting deadlines and working as an effective team member. Proven high-level problem-solving skills with the ability to find solutions to complex problems. Sound knowledge and ability to apply knowledge of medical recruitment practices, including but not limited to medical registration requirements, immigration processes and Medicare applications and relevant legislation, policies, and industrial instruments pertaining to the employment of Junior Medical Staff. Proficient use of information technology to produce concise correspondence, reports, data and other information to assist in business decisions.
