The Mental Health Consultation Liaison Clinician is a critical member of Women's Mental Health team as part of the wider Social Model of Health Division. About the role The role is multifaceted and includes being part of a team that triages referrals for outpatient clinics; undertakes primary, secondary and tertiary consultation and liaison to the RWH wards; liaison with RMH CL Psychiatry; education of midwifery and nursing staff; and contribution to the RWH MH clinical guidelines. A regular day will see you: Providing primary and secondary consultation on our medical/surgical wards and implementing care plans Providing organisational consultation in committees, acting as a resource to policies and procedures and providing education to non-mental health staff Assisting in triaging referrals The department is looking for an experienced clinician who has worked in mental health in a senior role, has worked within a multidisciplinary team and has the expertise of managing mental health/behavioural disturbances across non-mental health services. You’ll bring with you: Appropriate Post Graduate qualification(s) in Mental Health (Nursing, Psychology, Allied Health) or equivalent and current registration with the relevant professional board High level of clinical expertise in managing complex patients Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams High level of responsibility and leadership in taking lead of clinical role Be dynamic in practice, enthusiastic about providing education and implementing constant service improvement At the Women’s you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
