About the Role Classification: RN Grade 2 Year 2 – Year 8 Hours per fortnight: 64 hours The DDU is a specialist service supporting clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver clinical care, conduct mental health and substance use assessments, provide therapeutic interventions, and create individualised treatment plans. You will collaborate with community agencies, Mental Health Support Workers, and AOD services to ensure smooth client transitions. Additionally, you will mentor junior nurses, provide leadership, and contribute to professional development and education activities. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions for mental health and AOD needs. Lead clinical care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and experience. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate patient documentation and case records. Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced nurses and students. Contribute to quality improvement activities and the development of new services. Why This Role? What You Will Bring: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (or eligible to apply) At least 2 years of nursing experience, ideally in mental health or drug and alcohol treatment settings. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Experience or willingness to work with individuals affected by mental health and substance use disorders.
